April 29, 2012 What, what is this?

Jo rolled out of bed. The fall woke her and when she opened her eyes the time came as a surprise. She'd slept in again.
This was getting to be a bit of a bad habit and she was going to need a job to keep her from continuing. Thankfully, Old Man owned the lodge where she'd met the others and was able to stay there without paying.
This was ridiculous, this lazy feeling. Jo untangled herself from the sheets and got dressed so she could go for a jog. That would at least make her feel better for wasting half the day.
As she left she recognized someone coming down the path, it was David! She was excited to see a familiar face and called out, "Hey! What've you been up to?"

Hazel ran her fingers through her thick hair and breathed deeply through her nose. She could feel a migraine coming on. Hazel glanced down at Gwen sobbing on the ground. Poor girl. She'd been through so much and she still hadn't gotten any answers. Hazel knelt down in front of her and looked the girl in the eyes, doing her best to get her attention.

"Gwen?" She asked quietly at first. She rolled her eyes and raised her voice slightly at the other Uratha. "Gwen!"

The Old Man looked down at Gwen, his previous calm smile turning down into a wide, face-lining frown. Letting out a long breath through his nose, he looks past the pair of women down the otherwise empty dirt path towards the direction David was walking. Opening his mouth to speak after a short period of time, he slams it shut and releases another breath. "You'll more than likely never see them again," he lets out towards Hazel and Gwen, his eyes eventually leaving the sobbing young woman as he breaks from his spot and starts around them towards the lodge. Turning about for one last glance, he looses: "Hazel, I expect you to look out for Gwen and the others in the next few days. Marcel is going to take everyone hunting.

There's a kind of tinge to the Old Man's last word before he turns away and starts back down the road towards where David and Jo stand. The older Werewolf would know Marcel as - besides Old Man Moon himself - one of the last members of the Pack since most everyone left or died. By hunting, they'd know he means Spirits as opposed to the more physical kind.

Hunting? In curiosity he turns towards the Old Man. In regards to the newly introduced man, he didn't take the slightest interest. Although, his presence was strong, as if the man had seen many things. This David had taken to account and kept it in the back of his fragile mind. He would either take a liking to the man, or he would loathe him.

"Hunting, you say? That sounds interesting and a bit relaxing. What did you have in mind, Old Man Moon?" Just as he finished his sentence, David's eyes had wondered to the mysterious man. What was it that bothered David? Obviously, this man was an allied force but, he was off in some way.

Scarlett rolled over and cracked open one weary eye. She had been out late again trying out her different wolf forms, if the old Man wouldn't help her she'd figure it out on her own. She had so many questions though. And didn't the old man promise to teach her to be a better tracker? Scarlett yawned and sat up, better go see what the old man was up to. She quickly showered and dressed, she grabbed her bow for good measures just in case. As Scarlett began to head out she noticed just up ahead were David and Jo... David! Scarlett ran as fast as she possibly could she hadn't seen David in a while and a strange sense of longing overcame her. As she sprinted down the path though she quickly slowed when she saw the old man and some other beast speaking to the two. It would be bad to interrupt them, a possible disgrace. Disgrace might mean she would never learn to track.

"David! Jo!" Scarlett tried to call out, but it was no more than a whisper.

Gwen watched as the Old Man's face morphed into a frown; he disapproved of her conduct. She was being troublesome, a child, she realized. Before he turned, she tried to collect herself but couldn't, growing increasingly upset with his disapproval. She was angry with herself for being so sensitive to others' thoughts, angry at herself for having poor composure but glad in the sense that he didn't just think nothing of her, dislike was always better than disinterest. Growling at herself, she vowed to make him proud one day, to become a better, well, whatever the hell she could be called these days.

The girl looked up at the woman Old Man Moon had just put in charge and weakly smiled at her. Inhaling, Gwen started forward after him with her bag in hand.

He mentioned hunting. It must be these Stalkers or something he mentioned. Sighing, she rubbed at her eyes and looked down at herself; she wasn't prepared to handle herself much less be of any use to anyone else. Cursing herself under her breath, she continued forward. She would get cleaned up, settle down, shut up, and listen to whatever she was told. The last thing she wanted was to be useless and difficult, and that was exactly what she was being. Ashamed, she walked with her head hung low.

Hazel nodded at Old Man Moon, a little shocked at her new position of pseudo-leadership. She was in charge of the newbies, spectacular. It wasn't that she was averted to these pups, but Hazel wasn't quite sure whether or not she was the best one suited to the job. She supposed that, since Old Man Moon was too busy legitimately leading the pack, and all the other members were dead, MIA, or just plain gone, she was the most qualified one for the best.

"I'll do my best, sir," Hazel said, turning back to Gwen. She was both surprised and relieved at her new change in attitude. There was hope for this one still. Gwen had a lot a potential, she had potential coming out the wazoo, but if she couldn't get a better grip on her emotions then she would only be a hindrance. If she burst into tears every time she got her paw dirty, what was she going to do when her pack-mates start dying around her?

"Hey!" Hazel shouted at the other Uratha in the area, which was just Scarlett, Jo, and David. "C'mon inside! We're gonna get cleaned up and then head out hunting!" Hazel knew that, with the possible exception of David, the younger pack-mates would, at most, think they were going after some deer. They had no idea how wrong they were.

"Hunting? But I-...running, and buh!" Jo didn't expect such a rush of events to follow after greet one person. She was actually looking forward to a normal jog. At least things stayed interesting and didn't bore her to sleep. (Though, considering the amount of it she got it probably wouldn't be possible.)
Other than the small expression of frustration, she didn't object much to the change of plans and followed Hazel. She noticed Gwen sulking by her and cocked her head, but refused to stay curious. Her hand patted Gwen's arm. "Hey! You ok?" She smiled.
