Background-
Hazel had her first shift shortly after she got her first period. It was a fun experience. Luckily, no one was hurt or suffered any psychological trauma from it. It turns out Hazel's grandmother was also a werewolf, and the Alpha of her pack at that. So, naturally, Hazel moved to be with her grandmother so that she could learn more about what she was. And so she became a member of her grandmother's pack. And that was fine and dandy for the first few years. Eventually, however, Hazel began to feel a bit useless. Aside from her, there were two other Elodoths in the pack, one of which being her grandmother herself. They were both older, wiser, faster, stronger, and essentially better than she was. She wasn't contributing to the Pack dynamic at all. So, she left. She thanked her gran for teaching her the ways of the pack, and the old broad understood her grandaughter's mentality and let her go.
Hazel lived on her own for about a month, and it was awful. She almost went mad from the solitude alone. Eventually, however, she came across the Old Man. He was kind enough to let her into the pack, and she was grateful beyond words, and she was glad she'd finally found a place she might be useful at.
